Wendy started her love for painting less than ten years ago. She had never picked up a paintbrush until attending a watercolour workshop. After a few lessons, she was hooked. Her passion has grown over the years using different mediums to capture her images.
Fortunately, living in South Devon the opportunities are many and varied; she goes on long rambling walks with her trusty dog Tyler armed with sketch book and camera to capture images from the rugged coastline, especially the sea, to moody Dartmoor and the animals that roam across it.
Light, colour and atmosphere are really important to Wendy, which is conveyed in her paintings.
Although mostly self-taught, Wendy occasionally attends workshops, which has enabled her to go from strength to strength. Since those very casual beginnings, she has never looked back, exhibiting regularly during the year.
In 2015 Wendy won the "Fresh Art Competition" at Mayne Gallery and has a selection of her work on show.
